If you’re into history, It’s the first 100% craft malt to ever be planted, grown, harvested, malted and brewed in New York’s Hudson Valley since Prohibition.
This is a high quality 2 Row spring barley grown on Migliorelli Farm in Tivoli and Stonehouse Farms in Livingston NY. This is our most popular malt. It has that One of a kind local flavor of our Hudson Valley fields. It’s sweet, slightly nutty, has excellent brew house yields. Low protein for clean, easy laudering and efficient, consistent beer production.
A universal base malt for most beer types, IPA, Pale Ale, Stouts and Porters, etc.
We cure the Pilsner malt with slightly lower kiln temperatures so this malt is a bit lower in color than the Pale 2-Row. However, lower color ratings also mean less enzymatic degradation during the kiln cycle. So this Pilsner is our highly ferment-able diastatic malt.
It has amazing sweet flavors and aroma, clean, crisp taste, outstanding brewing yields. Great yeast health attributes for those long slow lager fermentations. Low protein for clean, easy laudering and efficient, consistent beer production.
A Great base malt for light color Ales, lagers, Pilsner and Kolsch style Ales.
Our 6-Row is a light-colored base malt made from 6-row barley that was grown by Stonehouse Farms in Livingston. It has higher protein content and enzymatic power than 2-row barley. Inclusion of our 6 Row is therefore very advantageous for recipes calling for large proportions of specialty malts, wheat malts, or adjuncts, which have little or no enzymatic power themselves.
This malt is light in color 1.5-1.7 L.
It brings great body, great head retention and great mouth feel to your beer.
